THE ECCPC COMMITTEE:

1. Was first addressed as a project in August of 2009 in Kingston, Jamaica, and was ratified by FICAC's General Assembly in November of 2009 in Izmir, Turkey.

2. Stems from an invitation issued by the United Nations General Assembly during its 63rd period of sessions (topic 49 d of the program) - Sustainable Development: World's climate protection for present and future generations, to recognize:

   A) that the Earth and its ecosystems are our home, and to achieve a fair balance between the economic, social and environmental needs of present and future generations, it is necessary to promote harmony with nature and with the Earth; and
   B) that Mother Earth is a common expression to refer to planet Earth in different countries and regions, which shows the interdependence between human beings, other living species, and the planet we all live in.

3. Based on the foregoing invitation, the World Federation of Consuls - FICAC, endeavors to cooperate in a meaningful way with the underlying efforts required to protect our Mother Earth, which as of 2009 enjoys an official international celebration, on April 22 of every year, as decreed by the United Nations.
