His Excellency Bernard Fautrier, Executive Vice President, Prince Albert II Foundation- Opening Remarks. Ladies, Gentlemen, Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, I would like to express my great pleasure to be here today for the signature of our partnership.
As you know, in 2006, the Sovereign Prince decided to set up the Foundation which is a highlight of his personal environmental undertakings. The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation acts to protect the environment and to implement solutions which promote sustainable development. It has set three main objectives: global warming and renewable energies, loss of biodiversity; and improving access to water and fighting desertification. To realize these missions, the Foundation has wished, since its creation, to establish important partnerships with major players and institutions throughout the world.
In this context, I am proud to sign an agreement with the International Federation of Consular Corps and Associations which set up an Environmental and Climate Change Protection Committee since November 2009.
This partnership will be the opportunity :
- to jointly support projects in our common fields and geographical areas of intervention;
- to develop technical, scientific and methodological cooperation to benefit from our respective expertise;
- to share our experiences in the field of environment.
This agreement opens up promising prospects that I am sure we will bring to fruition on the form of concrete initiatives.
