Nikolaos K. Margaropoulos studied Law both in Greece and Italy (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Law Faculty of Macerata University) and is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish and has a degree in Sign Language. He is an attorney-at-law (Greek Supreme Court) a member of the Thessaloniki Bar (since 1994) and a Managing Partner of Margaropoulos & Associates – Scientia Legis Law Firm with offices in Thessaloniki and Athens, Greece. Since 1995, he has been the Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Thessaloniki and is also an honorary citizen of the city of Santo Domingo. He is also the Secretary General for FICAC, the International federation of Consular Corps and Associations. FICAC has ECOSOC status and Mr. Margaropoulos is one of FICAC’s representatives at the UN. He has been bestowed the title of Cavaliere (Knight) dell’ Ordine della Stella della Solidarieta’ Italiana, by the President of the Italian Republic, the FICAC (International Federation of Consular Corps and Associations) Medal of Honour and the Medal of Honour by the Consular Corps Diplomatique of India. He has been honored by Secretaries of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines H.E. Jose Rene D. Almendras and H.E. Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. with Certificates of Recognition for his 20 and 25 years of service to the DFA respectively.
